Casa San Angel project arises from the necessity to design a house that gives the residents as much privacy as possible and at the same time blends with the context of the historical streets of San Angel in Mexico City.
Two bodies of independent rooms are joined by an open public space. The main view and orientation of the new construction is towards the south and the west since the adjacent lot is built.
Our proposal revolves around the trees. They are an important element of temperature and light control and make up a micro-climate to which the house is intended to contribute. Green technology and materials are proposed as an essential part of this project.
The volume containing the kitchen, dining and living areas rests between the entrance patio and the main garden resulting in a double view as well as in natural ventilation. Red ceramics are being chosen to give the project a contemporary appearance while maintaining the context of the vicinity. The interior of the house is simple and luminous. Certified wood wraps the dinning area all the way up to the upper family room. From this room an open corridor leads to an exterior roof garden, a public space half enclosed with a hammock to enjoy the view of the area.
