Design and manufacture of furniture for a residential house. The project consists basically of creating different objects that interact and ease the functioning of the space. The furnishing proposal combines certified wood, stainless steel, and crystal. These materials generate continuity with the existing range of colors in the site.
The employment of different wood shades in the design of the furniture is of vital importance, since the combination of two or more volumes results in a sense of dynamism and lightness. The idea is emphasized with the use of wheels on some furnishings to make their use flexible.
The main unit of the studio/library consists of a perimetral structure that surrounds almost all the studio space. It is attached to the wall through a wood beam, from which a series of crystal shelves form wood covered modulated panels. Each section of the structure contains a closed volume for storage. The working table consists of several elements that when joined together make up a multifunctional desk. Formed by two wood volumes united in the middle by trays of stainless steel to which two movable service carts with adjustable crystal shelves are aligned. A light bookshelf, made up of wood shelves attached to steel cables from floor to ceiling, is assembled with ironwork that allows the shelves to be leveled at different heights.
Furnishings consisting of two main volumes was designed for the main bedroom: a horizontal body designed for drawers made of wood suspended at 20 cms. above the floor. Over it lays another body with shelves and folding doors made of wood and stainless steel along the edge. In combination with this structure, a second one is made of three modules with three doors and is suspended higher than the first one. Two mobile carts were designed with the same dimensions of the module. A wood frame with a folding table tops so as to extend the table area when necessary.
